Naughton says that she had left after a heated argument with Williams, Bailon, and their manager. Naughton had tried to settle with the group and give into their demands for months leading up to the argument, deciding it was not worth leaving the group after a few fights and that it would have been a shame to end a group that had so much hard work put into it. However, during the heated argument, Williams allegedly threw a hot plate full of KFC food at Naughton, proving to be the final straw. After Naughton’s departure, Bailon and Williams resumed as a two-member group and released the 2nd single Neva Get Enuf feat lil wayne which did not feature Naughton’s vocals. The single failed to make a dent on radio and the Billboard Hot 100 only charting #118 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. After the second single released off the album, “Neva Get Enuf”, underperformed, auditions were held across the country for a new third member. Jessica Benson made the cut and joined 3LW in December 2002. In fall 2003, 3LW departed from Epic, signing with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label. Because of the success of the video on the enternet and a big radio impact the album was supposed to be released later that year but was pushed back to a 2007 release because of Adrienne and Kiely’s involvement with Disney’s Cheetah Girls. Eventually plans fell off the release schedule and as a result, the album was never released. Rumors began to flow all over the enternet that 3LW had broken up. But in the Spring of 2008 Adrienne Bailon stated that 3LW are officially disbanded. She stated in her myspace Blog this ” Being a part of 3LW was undeniably one of my favorite times in life. I loved my fellow members. I had many wonderful first experiences, at such a young age, it was amazing. I will always treasure those memories. 3LW was how I entered the music business. As a person I’ve come so far from where I started. Kiely, from 3LW, is now part of The Cheetah Girls; in a way, we’ve kept the 3LW message and theme alive. It was all about girl power. As the song says, “A Girl Can Mac” and just have fun and believe in her self. As for 3LW reuniting, anything is possible.”
